Welcome to My Alameda Studio

Thank you for stopping by. Welcome to my Alameda photography studio. I’m Megan, a Bay Area newborn, maternity, and family photographer, and this is where I photograph newborns, babies in their first year, maternity, and families in a calm, comfortable space made for slow, gentle sessions.

From the soft backdrops and layered textures to a rack of gowns and a spot for parents to settle in, everything is set up so you can relax and focus on each other. Sessions are private and by appointment.

Inside My Alameda Newborn & Family Photography Studio

The studio is stocked with soft newborn wraps, layered textures, and heirloom-style baby props for newborn and baby portraits, along with a range of simple backdrops that keep the focus on your family. For maternity and family sessions, you’re welcome to borrow from my client wardrobe, a rack of women’s and maternity gowns in soft, neutral tones. Parents and siblings have a comfortable place to settle in, with coffee and snacks while your baby gets cozy.

What to Expect at Your Alameda Photo Session

Your session starts with a quick call, so I can learn about your family and what you’re hoping to capture. Once you’re booked, I’ll send you what you need to prepare.

On the day, you’ll have time to settle in before we begin, and I guide you through posing and styling every step of the way. Newborn sessions move at your baby’s pace, with breaks for feeding and soothing. Milestone, maternity, and family sessions are relaxed and easy, with no experience in front of the camera needed.

Within one to two weeks, we meet on Zoom to look through your gallery and choose your favorites together. Your finished images are ready about two weeks after that.

Alameda Photography Studio Location

Megan Rory Photography is located at 2516 Blanding Avenue, Studio C, Alameda, CA 94501. The studio is on the second floor, and free street parking is available. Sessions are by appointment only.

Families visit from across the East Bay and Bay Area, including Oakland, Berkeley, Piedmont, San Leandro, Emeryville, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, and Marin County.

I photograph newborn, milestone and first-year, maternity, and family sessions at my Alameda photography studio.

Yes. There are maternity gowns for moms, a wardrobe for the kids, and sweaters for dad, all available to borrow. You can browse them on my client wardrobe page.

Details on pricing can be found here. The session fee is $300, and collections start at $990.

Yes, siblings and parents are welcome and encouraged, and pets are welcome too.

Nothing except yourselves. Depending on your session type, you may want to bring milk and diapers if needed.

I recommend booking in your second or early in your third trimester. I keep a few last-minute spots open, so reach out even if your baby has already arrived.

Yes. In-home lifestyle sessions are available for newborns, and outdoor sessions are available for all session types across the Bay Area.
