About Your Bay Area Baby Photographer

Hi, I’m Megan — a Bay Area baby photographer and a mom of five who understands how meaningful it is to document this stage, when your baby’s personality begins to emerge and each milestone seems to arrive all at once.

My sitter and first year sessions are designed to feel calm, simple, and unhurried — allowing space for curiosity, expression, and movement so your baby can be fully themselves. I create heirloom artwork that preserves this season so you can return to the feelings, the closeness, and the joy of this stage long after it has passed.

I offer sitter and milestone photography in my Alameda studio and outdoors throughout the Bay Area.

Questions About Your Session

Sitter and milestone sessions are typically photographed once your baby is sitting independently but not yet walking — usually around 6–9 months. This stage captures beautiful expressions, curiosity, and personality.

First birthday sessions can also take place around 11–12 months to celebrate this milestone in a timeless, natural way.

Simple, neutral clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on your baby’s expressions and personality. Soft tones, light layers, and minimal patterns work best in the studio setting.

I’m always happy to provide wardrobe guidance before your session to ensure everything feels cohesive and effortless.

Absolutely. While sitter and first year sessions celebrate your baby’s milestone, the people who love them most are an important part of this season.

Including parents and siblings allows us to capture connection alongside personality — creating a beautiful variety of images from individual portraits to meaningful family moments. We’ll create a natural mix during your session, and at your ordering appointment you’ll choose the portraits and combinations that feel most special to keep and display.

Many families book milestone sessions once their baby is close to sitting independently, typically around 5–6 months of age.

If you’re hoping to capture a specific age or birthday, it’s helpful to reach out a few weeks in advance. That said, don’t hesitate to reach out about current availability — even for sooner dates.

Sitter and first year sessions can take place in my Alameda photography studio or outdoors in beautiful natural light.

Studio sessions offer a clean, timeless setting with soft light and minimal distractions, while outdoor sessions create a more natural and airy feel. I’m happy to help you choose the setting that best fits your vision.
