First Newborn Session in My New Temporary Studio Space
I had originally planned to take a break from photography for the next few months, but it turns out I just couldn’t stay away for long. After only a few days off, I realized how much I missed being in the studio and photographing those fresh, sleepy babies—so I found a cozy little space to keep going, just at a slower pace.
This studio is much smaller than my usual setup, but it’s warm, quiet, and has just enough space for newborn photography. It’s a comfortable, safe, and clean space for new parents and babies, and has everything I need to continue offering the same thoughtful, professional experience—just in a more scaled-down way while I settle into life with baby number five.
This sweet baby boy was my first session in the new space, and he slept so well the whole time. We were able to move through several poses and setups with ease, and the session flowed so smoothly. It was such a good reminder of how special this work is, and how lucky I am to be able to keep doing it—even in a smaller, temporary studio.
As a Bay Area newborn photographer based in Alameda, I’m excited that I’ll get to continue taking on some shoots throughout my leave. If you’re expecting and looking for newborn photos in Alameda or the East Bay, I’d love to hear from you. This season looks a little different, but it still means so much to me to be able to help families document these fleeting, precious early days.
