About Your San Francisco Newborn Photographer

Hi, I’m Megan! I’m a San Francisco newborn photographer and mom of five. With five loud and energetic boys, I understand the beauty and chaos of family life and how much care it takes to bring everyone together.

That experience shapes the way I photograph families. I create sessions that feel easy, calm, and natural—embracing the movement, noise, and unpredictability as it unfolds. Rather than perfectly posing, I gently guide and allow kids to be kids, creating space for real connection so your session feels relaxed, unforced, and truly reflective of your family.

When the experience feels simple and unrushed, it leaves room for the moments that matter most—the ones that slip by before you realize how quickly they’re gone. From the tiny newborn days to first smiles, first steps, and all the in-between moments, childhood unfolds in a beautiful blur. As a newborn photographer in San Francisco and a mother myself, I’ve felt firsthand how fleeting these seasons are. Photography allows me to preserve those everyday moments—so you can return to the feelings, the closeness, and the love long after the moment has passed.

Frequently Asked Questions

For the best results, ideally, your baby should be between 5 and 10 days old. During this period, they are typically very sleepy and easier to pose.

However, if your baby is older, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I regularly photograph older babies and am happy to accommodate last-minute bookings when available.

Please schedule your newborn portrait session before your baby arrives, if possible. This allows me to photograph your baby at the ideal age of 5 to 10 days old.

Due to the unpredictable timing of newborn sessions, and to make sure I have availability when your newborn arrives, I accept a very limited number of newborn sessions each month. Please book your session as early as possible to secure your due date. I will do my best to accommodate late bookings if my schedule allows.

A family photo session can be held at any location you choose! We are so lucky to be surrounded by beautiful beaches, parks, and more. I’m also happy to offer suggestions of some of my favorite San Francisco family photo locations.

Children photograph best when they are happy and comfortable, which is why I always allow plenty of time for sessions. Typically, a family session lasts between 30 minutes and 1 hour, giving children time to play, run around, and have fun, while also giving us their best smiles and expressions.
